Announcing the new 2016-2017 Falcon Debate Booster Organization, Inc Executive Board and Exciting News for the Upcoming School Year.

My name is Lori Halpern Drock and I am the proud speech and debate mom of Jayley Halpern-Drock.  I am also your 2016-2017 Falcon Debate Booster Organization, Inc President.

As my first order of business, I want to thank the 2015-2016 Executive Board who served tirelessly to carry on the Mission of the Falcon Debate Booster Organization. This nonprofit organization is solely focused on and devoted to supporting the outstanding efforts of the Flanagan Speech and Debate program and its students. This organization helps to support the overall success of the Speech and Debate program as well as afford the program the financial support it needs to be a top competitor at many local and national tournaments.  Our children are fortunate to be a part of a program that will prepare them well for the future, giving them the skills they will need to be successful in anything they pursue.   Your child’s participation in the Flanagan Speech and Debate program will certainly look very favorable when applying to colleges and universities around the nation.

On May 18th, during the Spring 2016 meeting of the Falcon Debate Booster Organization, the new 2016-2017 Executive Board was elected.  Please join me in congratulating the following officers on their new positions:

Patti Lopez, 2nd Vice President

Oscar Rodriguez, Treasurer

Margaret Holnes-Harris, Secretary

We will meet again in July to set our committees for the coming school year.   If you are interested, please reach out to me at falcondebatebooster@gmail.com.

Finally, as a 501(c)(3), we have a responsibility to file our tax returns annually and this year’s return will be due by August 15th.  We are reaching out to you, our Falcon Debate family to find out if there is an accountant or CPA among us that will be willing to volunteer/donate your time to complete our tax return.  Our books are in order and we have a simple return.  If there is a way for us to save the money by not having to hire an accountant, we can put our funds towards the kids and what they need!  The board would be most appreciative for your efforts.  Again, please reach out to me as soon as possible at falcondebatebooster@gmail.com if you are able to donate your time to this worthy cause.  Remember, everything we do is for our children and their Speech and Debate success!
